Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a brain disorder that causes people to have unwanted thoughts repeat in their mind, disturbing images, and repetitive behaviors. People with OCD feel the need to do things over and over again (rituals) or to have things in a certain order to feel comfortable. This can interfere with daily life and cause great stress. People with OCD may be afraid that something terrible will happen to them or a loved one if they don't do these rituals or believe these thoughts.
